Our publisher got this message from bookstore buyers: the name of this book is confusing and won’t generate orders.
It seems the sub title, Navigating the workplace with an autoimmune disease, doesn’t come up on sales grid sheets. People only see: Keep Working, Girlfriend! — and people are confused about the content.
Luckily, our publisher meets with buyers to talk about new releases so we learned this before it was printed! The good news is that when our wonderful representative at Demos Medical Publishing, Noreen Henson, described the book (and she’s very psyched!), they raised the order numbers and we got the highest.
Joan & I have strong opinions about living with chronic illness and work. But I know where my expertise stops short. Well, talk about turning lemons into lemonade.
We came up with a new name that we all like even better! (And, don’t worry, you can still pre-order it )
