Hi, Rosalind! Well, I think the cynic would say that the medical establishment in general is geared towards men's health.

I don't really have a problem with separate organizations focusing on "women's issues," although I recognize that that has the potential to marginalize our needs and underscore the erroneous assumption that our concerns are "trivial" and not as worthy of funding and attention as those that affect men. Still, at least someone is shining the spotlight on the reality that men and women have different responses to disease and health.

I'm toying with the idea of writing an article about living with chronic illness while pursuing a career, especially for low-income women who don't have the resources or support that executive, professional women often enjoy. I'll definitely have to read your book!

Cheers,
Marjorie
